Born and raised in Oregon, Emily, grew up on a farm. She was the child who brought home strays, injured wildlife, bottle baby farm animals, and once went as far as a box of mice from the pet store to spare their lives. She participated in 4H but was the only child not selling their livestock at auction. She couldn’t understand why others would want to sell their friends they raised, cared for, and trusted. Over the years her passion for animals grew and has spent the last 10 years rescuing farm animals and dogs in need of medical care or a home; all while working as a nurse. Wanting to expand her efforts of making meaningful change happen on a larger scale for the animal and human community, she has founded Oregon Farm Sanctuary.
A lifelong advocate of animal welfare, Veronica, supports Oregon Farm Sanctuary as Secretary of the Board. Veronica has worked in Emergency Medicine as a Nurse the last 9 years serving her community. When she is not volunteering with OFS, she spends her time with her dog Oliver and traveling the world.
